We are pleased to announce major improvements of the AAPA-endorsed
Professional Liability Insurance Program. We introduce a new insurance
carrier, Medical Protective (MedPro), a company that has insured
healthcare professionals consistently and reliably for over 110
years. MedPro is a member of Warren Buffett's Berkshire-Hathaway
Group and carries an A++ financial rating.
You will now have a choice of “Claims-Made” or “Occurrence”
coverage. If you currently participate on a Claims-Made basis, we
have a special conversion policy for those who wish to return to
Occurrence coverage without incurring the full cost of tail coverage.
There are added features, like HIIPA coverage and additional limits-of-liability
options. For retiring PAs, you will qualify for a free tail after
only one policy year of MedPro coverage.
PAs who currently participate in the AAPA-endorsed program will
be notified before their current policy renewal dates and offered
placement in MedPro.
